Facing the horror of close relatives murdered in arson fires, they participate, and cooperate in the investigation of those murders, and partake in its resolution. The characters are varied and well fleshed out. Their personal goals and contradictions provide a compelling and entertaining rhythm of suspense and release. The Amish German dialect contributes to the ambience, and the setting in Amish Pennsylvania at Christmas time draws the reader ever deeper into the plot. It is an engrossing tale of darkness and doubt tempered by faith and optimism. Which will prevail? It's an excellent, uplifting read and will leave you anticipating its sequel. Highly recommended.
