Meet the Author

McKenzie Boone writes from her cabin home in the rural Midwest where she lives with her husband. All her life, she’s loved reading wonderful books, and to write stories herself now is the great joy of her life. She writes every day.

            Amish communities fascinate McKenzie. In them, she sees people deeply devoted to the old-fashioned values that uplift lives. Values of caring for one another, of kindness and neighborliness. Values of faith, of resilience, of strong love. She does her best to honor those qualities by bringing them to her characters’ lives, even when the world makes it hard for those characters to hold to them. She believes that God supports everyone in doing their best to love one another, and that quieting the noise of modern-day living to reflect on such things is doing much. 

            When she’s not writing, McKenzie enjoys knitting, baking, and driving along winding country roads. Like her Amish characters, she cherishes the simple pleasures in life—family, holidays, good, home-cooked food, animals, nature, and sweet Sunday mornings at church. Like the farmers in her stories, she watches the weather, and savors the changing seasons.
